Clubs and centres across the country are invited to take part in Sail Darkness Into Light 2026, supporting Pieta House with an early-morning flotilla on Saturday, 9th May.
Clubs are encouraged to organise their own local flotillas, tailored to their facilities and members. This can be as simple as a short, safe passage within the harbour or along the shoreline, creating a meaningful moment as the sun rises. Safety planning should remain a priority, with appropriate supervision, communication and local conditions taken into account.
Taking part offers a powerful way for sailing communities to support Pieta House’s vital work in suicide prevention and mental health services, while also bringing members together at the start of the season. Whether by dinghy, keelboat, powerboat or board, take to the water at 5am on the morning for a 5:30am-ish sunrise for this meaningful event
Clubs wishing to get involved should register via the Pieta House website by creating an account and registering under “Sailing.” This ensures your club is included as part of the national effort.
