DAVID CULLEN IS THE NEW PRESIDENT OF IRISH SAILING


Irish Sailing is pleased to announce the election of David Cullen as President, following the organisation’s Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday at Lough Ree Yacht Club. David will serve as President for the 2026–2029 term, succeeding Sue Concannon.

A member of Howth Yacht Club and the Royal Ocean Racing Club, David brings extensive experience both within sailing and in his professional career. He began sailing in Kilbarrack Sailing Club in the Optimist class, progressing through Mirrors and Lasers before moving into offshore racing at a young age.

David has competed extensively at national and international level, including ISORA campaigns, Round Ireland races, Fastnet Races and Cowes Week, where he was part of an overall winning team. He has also competed in three Commodore’s Cups and continues to race actively recently the Half Ton class and now on Checkmate XX.

Professionally, David is Managing Director of Euro Car Parks Ireland and is a Chartered Surveyor. He has a strong background in business and property, alongside experience as a media commentator on transport and infrastructure matters.

Irish Sailing looks forward to David’s leadership over the coming years, including his role in guiding key organisational developments such as the introduction of a new Member Management System, as outlined at the AGM.

Irish Sailing extends its congratulations to David Cullen and wishes him every success in his new role.
