ADOPTION OF SPORT IRELAND ANTI-DOPING RULES FOR IRISH SAILING

Irish Sailing has formally adopted the Anti-Doping Rules of Sport Ireland as the Anti-Doping Rules governing the sport of sailing in Ireland, in accordance with the requirements of the Racing Rules of Sailing.

Sport Ireland is the designated National Anti-Doping Organisation (NADO) for Ireland and is responsible for implementing and overseeing the Irish Sport Anti-Doping Programme. By adopting these rules, Irish Sailing recognises the authority and responsibility of Sport Ireland in administering anti-doping measures across the sport, including testing, education and compliance.

The adoption of these rules reinforces Irish Sailing’s commitment to protecting the integrity of sailing and ensuring that competition is conducted in a fair, safe and clean environment for all participants.

The Irish Sailing Anti-Doping Policy is available to view on the Irish Sailing website under  Irish Sailing > Performance > Governance. The current policy document was uploaded on 5 March 2026.

Any queries relating to anti-doping in Irish Sailing can be directed to Irish Sailing Anti-Doping Officer Stephen O’Shaughnessy at stephen.oshaughnessy@sailing.ie.
