At the Sport Ireland Coaching Campus in Limerick last weekend, three Irish Sailing Instructor Trainers graduated from the Sport Ireland Coach Developer programme, which was a significant milestone in their professional development and in the continued strengthening of our instructor education framework. The graduation ceremony was delivered and supported by Dr. Una May, CEO of Sport Ireland, whose presence underlined the importance of Coach Development within Ireland’s sporting landscape.
The Sport Ireland Coach Developer Award is the national grading framework used to recognise and benchmark Coach Developers across the country. Within Irish Sailing, it plays an important role in the ongoing development and accreditation of our Instructor Trainers- experienced educators who design, deliver and support instructor courses nationwide.
The programme represents a substantial commitment to personal growth, reflective practice and the refinement of observation and feedback skills. It challenges candidates to deepen their ability to support learners, enhance coaching conversations and drive quality standards across programmes.
