Glandore Harbour Yacht Club will host an upcoming Irish Sailing Local Race Officer Course on Saturday 28 March 2026, delivered by Irish Sailing. The course is designed for Irish Sailing members with an interest in learning the processes and procedures required to run racing in a safe, effective and responsible manner.
Open to members of all affiliated clubs, the course is suitable for those already involved in race management as well as sailors and volunteers looking to develop their skills and understanding of race operations. The programme will focus on practical race management, safety considerations and the responsibilities associated with delivering successful racing at club and local level.
Training will be led by Michael Conway, Irish Sailing National Race Officer, who brings extensive experience in race management across club, national and international events. Participants will benefit from practical insights and guidance based on current best practice.
The course will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm at Glandore Harbour Yacht Club. The cost is €45 per participant, which includes a light lunch, and the minimum age to attend is 16 years.
This Local Race Officer Course forms part of Irish Sailing’s ongoing commitment to supporting clubs and volunteers through education and training, helping to ensure consistent standards of race management nationwide.
