The Cruising Association of Ireland Three Bridges Rally is firmly established as one of the most distinctive events in the Irish cruising calendar and 2026 promises to be another unmissable edition. Taking place on Saturday 5 September 2026, the rally offers cruising sailors a rare opportunity to experience Dublin from the water in spectacular fashion.
Each year, participating boats assemble at Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club before transiting the iconic Tom Clarke (East Link) Bridge as a fleet. From there, the rally becomes a moving parade along the River Liffey, passing beneath Dublin’s landmark bridges and drawing crowds along the quays. Boats then berth overnight on the Liffey Pontoon beside the 3Arena, followed by a relaxed evening ashore with good food, conversation, and music.
The 2025 rally, the 16th running of the event, showcased everything the Three Bridges Rally is about: seamanship, camaraderie, colour, and character. Despite lively conditions, a fleet of 27 boats ranging from 25 to 47 feet took part, many dressed overall with flags for the ever-popular “best dressed boat” prize. The event also featured a civic reception, a shared dinner, and fundraising in support of the RNLI- hallmarks of the rally’s strong community spirit.
Looking ahead, the CAI Three Bridges Rally 2026 will once again bring together cruising sailors from around the coast for a memorable weekend in the heart of the capital. Whether you’re a regular participant or considering your first rally, this is a date to mark firmly in your diary.
The Cruising Association of Ireland welcomes sailors of all backgrounds, offering cruises in company, rallies, talks, and social events year-round. Membership starts from just €30 per year- if you love cruising, you’re welcome aboard.
