VALID INSTRUCTOR CHECK

Irish Sailing maintains a public register of qualified instructors to uphold the integrity of the national training framework and to provide confidence that training is delivered safely, professionally and in line with recognised national standards. The register plays a key role in protecting participants, supporting compliance for clubs and centres, and preventing the misuse of expired, lapsed or unrecognised qualifications.

Verifying an instructor’s current status helps ensure that instruction is being delivered by individuals who meet Irish Sailing’s requirements for qualification, currency and good standing. It also supports organisations in meeting governance and insurance obligations, while reinforcing consistent standards across training activity nationwide.

As the national governing body, Irish Sailing encourages all instructors, clubs, centres and participants to regularly check instructor validity. Keeping qualifications up to date safeguards the quality of the learning environment and strengthens confidence in the training system as a whole.

Instructors can use the register to confirm their own status, while clubs and centres can use it as part of their due diligence when appointing staff or volunteers.

Instructor status can be checked via the Irish Sailing Valid Instructors Register at:
