Irish Sailing has opened the Dive Boat Coxswain Course for feedback as part of its ongoing programme review cycle. The review is intended to ensure the course remains effective, relevant and aligned with current best practice, modern technology and contemporary teaching methods. Feedback gathered through this process will help inform future refinements and support the continued development of safe, high-quality dive boat operations across the sport.
As the national governing body, Irish Sailing is inviting clubs, training centres, instructors and wider stakeholders to contribute their insights. Submissions are welcomed on the strengths of the existing syllabus, areas where the course could evolve, and any suggested updates or improvements that would enhance learning outcomes and operational standards.
This consultation forms part of Irish Sailing’s commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement, ensuring its training programmes remain fit for purpose and reflective of the needs of those delivering and using them on the water.
