GET CRUISING OUR WORLD CLASS COASTLINES IN 2026

2026 is the year to discover Irish cruising by exploring the word class islands and coastlines that we have right here under our nose on the island of Ireland. If you don't know where to start, there are two main cruisng clubs that can help you get out onto the water this year: the Irish Cruising Club and the Cruising Association of Ireland.

The Irish Cruising Club (ICC) was founded in 1929 to bring together cruising sailors and encourage cruising, particularly along the Irish coast and to destinations further afield. It has no fixed clubhouse, but its active membership is spread across Ireland and beyond. Members share a passion for seamanship, adventure and the cruising life, participating in organised cruises-in-company, events and social gatherings. The ICC also produces authoritative sailing directions and publications that are invaluable resources for anyone planning coastal voyaging. Membership reflects a long tradition of cruising excellence and camaraderie.

Complementing the ICC’s heritage is the Cruising Association of Ireland (CAI), founded more than twenty years ago by cruising sailors. The CAI welcomes anyone with an interest in cruising on Ireland’s waters, regardless of experience. It organises overnight rallies, longer cruises, winter talks, training sessions, and discussion forums where members can share advice, experiences and plans. The association also represents cruising sailors’ interests to authorities and promotes cruising within the wider boating community.

Whether you’re new to cruising or an experienced voyager, both organisations offer community, support, knowledge and opportunities to explore by sea. Joining the ICC or CAI in 2026 is a fantastic way to connect with fellow cruisers and enrich your sailing adventures.
