ICRA CONFERENCE AND AGM DATE SET

The dates for the ICRA Conference and AGM has been set for the 7 February 2026 in the Royal St George Yacht Club in Dun Laoghaire. All ICRA members are invited to attend the AGM, which will include the election of a new Committee. Nominations must be submitted online by 27 January 2026 and require support from two cruiser-racer boat owners. There will be three outstanding keynote speakers at this years conference...

Michael Boyd: Admirals Cup Team
With the revival of the Admiral’s Cup in 2025, the Royal Ocean Racing Club marked its centenary by inviting yacht clubs, rather than nations, to compete. The Royal Irish Yacht Club accepted the challenge, with RIYC member and former RORC Commodore Michael Boyd serving as Chef d’Équipe. Michael will reflect on the highs and lows of the 2025 campaign and share his thoughts on the future of top-level international racing.

Cillian Dickinson & Louis Molloy: J24 World Champions
In 2025, Headcase became the first Irish team to win the J24 World Championships. Their remarkable season also included a third consecutive European Championship, victory in the inaugural Keelboat Champions Cup, and a nomination for World Sailing’s Team of the Year award.

Pamela Lee: Offshore Racing Specialist
Pamela Lee will outline her #EmpowHer Class40 campaign, following a strong 2025 championship season. She will discuss her 2026 ambition to become the first Irish sailor to compete in the solo Route du Rhum, along with the realities of building, funding, and managing a professional offshore racing programme. Pamela will also touch on her involvement in the French offshore scene and efforts to attract an international Class40 fleet to the Round Ireland Race.

The conference will also include updates on major events for the year, the Sailors’ Forum, and the ICRA AGM. Proceedings begin at 10:30am and conclude at lunchtime, and note that the conference and AGM may be recorded.
