DUN LAOGHAIRE PRAISED BY WORLD SAILING

World Sailing has praised Dún Laoghaire very highly as a host city for the 2025 Annual Conference which ran from 2- 8th November last year.

The week-long conference brought together over more than 400 representatives from over 80 countries, centred at the Royal Marine Hotel and supported by sessions held at the Royal St. George, Royal Irish and National Yacht Clubs.

World Sailing chose "the historic maritime town of Dún Laoghaire" as the venue for its convenience from Dublin City, with proximity to the airport and access to the whole of Dublin. The main venue for the conference was the Royal Marine Hotel, with other events held at the waterfront yacht clubs like the Royal St. George Yacht Club, Royal Irish Yacht Club and the National Yacht Club.

The annual conference is the organisation’s flagship event of the year, and World Sailing CEO David Graham said the return to Dún Laoghaire was especially welcome, noting the town’s deep maritime and sailing traditions as being a highlight for "the most important week in our calendar."
