An Irish Team will compete at the world sailing mixed youth team racing event which will take place in Vilamaura Portugal, later this week.
As a prelude to the 2025 World sailing youth world championships , the team racing competition is scheduled to take place over two days on the 10th & 11th December. The Sailors who will be representing Ireland are Cora Naughton (winner of Irish Sailing Junior Helm Championship in 2024) and Matt Mapplebeck (winning crew of the 420, 2025 National Championships). The pair will also be competing in the 420 mixed crew division of the youth worlds.
The team racing event will be sailed in the ILCA 6 dinghy and will be run in the 2v2 format , with teams from sixteen nations slated to compete. We wish the sailors every success in this newly established event.
