IRISH SAILING RACE OFFICIAL TRAINING AT RCYC

As a follow on from the delivery of Irish Sailing race official programmes in Dún Laoghaire, this weekend the Royal Cork hosted similar safety and race officer training programmes for volunteers located in the south of the country.

International race officer David Lovegrove delivered a two-day regional/national race officer module, to prepare current local race officers for the next step on the ladder. In tandem, Philip Scallan presented a local safety lead course and was ably assisted by Marcus Worth – A one day course completed on the Saturday.

A total of 15 volunteers gave their time to upskill across the two programmes. Without these volunteers, we would not have a sport of which the bedrock to succeed is members giving of their time and experience. Thank you also to the Royal Cork for supporting the programmes.
