The Royal Irish Yacht Club was the venue for the first rolling out of the new Regional/National race officer training programme over the weekend. 12 race officers stepped forward to bring their training to the next level.
Huge thanks have to go to David Lovegrove and Ed Totterdell, both World Sailing International Race officers for delivering the material over the two day course. Additional thanks have to go to Ed for developing the programme which we can confidently say is equal to any other NRO programme in the world.
The participants represented clubs from all over Leinster (and a few from further afield). The next running of this programme will be in the Royal Cork YC next Saturday and Sunday (November 15th and 16th). There are still very limited spaces available for the course if any race officer is looking to upskill. Book Here
There will also be a local safety lead course running in RCYC on Saturday the 15th. Irish Sailing encourage all race officials to undertake this training as it imparts knowledge, we all should possess. Book Here
