Meet & Greet World Sailor of the Year Nominees
As part of the 2025 World Sailing Annual Conference in Dun Laoghaire, a unique youth sailing engagement event, sponsored by Four Star Pizza, will bring international sailing excellence face-to-face with Ireland’s next generation of athletes.
On Tuesday, November 4, at 14:30, the National Maritime Museum of Ireland will host a special “meet and greet” between young Irish sailors and some of the world’s most accomplished sailing talents.
Among the distinguished guests are World Sailing Awards nominees Jazz Turner, Allison Bell, and Jordi Xammar Fernandez—each a standout figure in the global sailing community. Their presence offers a rare opportunity for aspiring athletes to engage with role models who have achieved success on the sport’s highest stages.
The event is a collaborative initiative by World Sailing and Irish Sailing, aimed at inspiring youth through meaningful interaction and storytelling. Attendees will hear firsthand from these elite competitors about the values, challenges, and commitments that define a successful sailing career.
“By connecting our youth with world-class sailors, we’re fostering not only ambition but also a deep sense of community within the sport,” said a spokesperson for the World Conference organisers. “This is about more than just competition—it’s about mentorship, growth, and the shared spirit that unites sailors worldwide.”
Set against the historic backdrop of the National Maritime Museum, World Sailing says the gathering underscores the broader mission of the Annual Conference: "to blend governance and celebration with community outreach and legacy-building".
As Ireland hosts the world of sailing this week, this youth-focused event highlights how international forums can be leveraged to inspire and empower the future of the sport.
