The Irish Sailing Junior Champions’ Cup, due to begin today, Saturday 20 September at the Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre, Schull, Cork has been postponed for today due to light winds. The full race programme will now take place tomorrow, Sunday 21 September.
Nigel Biggs, Race Official, commented. “Despite our best efforts, the wind gods conspired against us today so racing was postposed at 14:30. The forecast looks much more promising for tomorrow so we will aim to complete the full programme of races.”
The Junior Champions’ Cup brings together Ireland’s best youth sailors much like the Irish Sailing Youth Nationals, it offers the chance for these champions' to go head-to-head in a one-design fleet once a year, to become the champion of champions'. This year’s lineup also boasts a near 50/50 balance of invited boys and girls, ensuring a strong mix of talent and representation from clubs across the country
We look forward to seeing them in action tomorrow.
