Mayo Mayhem Windsurfing Returns to County Mayo
The hugely successful Mayo Mayhem Windsurfing event is set to make a return from Friday, 26th to Sunday, 28th September. Powered by RWE, the event has firmly established itself as Ireland’s premier windsurfing competition, drawing both elite international riders and homegrown talent to the Wild Atlantic Way.
This year’s competition will once again carry 3-star ranking on the world tour, ensuring a strong lineup of competitors eager to test their skills against the Atlantic’s raw power. Depending on wind direction, the action will unfold either on the Belmullet Peninsula or Achill Island, two of County Mayo’s most dramatic coastal settings.
Spectators can expect a spectacular showcase of colour, courage, and adrenaline as windsurfers launch themselves into massive waves and storm-force winds. Competitors will be scored on their extreme jumps and wave-riding skills, a combination that has often been described as “surfing meets motocross on water.”
The event is not only a sporting highlight but also a vibrant community celebration, which has become a must-see spectacle on the Irish sporting calendar.
Whether you’re a watersports enthusiast or simply looking for an unforgettable weekend on the Wild Atlantic Way, Mayo Mayhem 25 promises just that!
