Irish Sailing is delighted to announce Colum McCaffrey as its new Training Manager. Colum has been part of the Irish Sailing Training team as Education and Programmes Officer since January 2024, bringing invaluable expertise from a diverse background supporting, developing and implementing training and activity in club, commercial and volunteer settings.
Colum has consistently been praised for his laser-focus on increasing participation, relentless drive to improve standards and infectious enthusiasm for the sea. In his new role, he will lead Irish Sailing’s national training strategy, working closely with clubs, centres, coaches, instructors and volunteers to ensure pathways, standards and structures support people of all ages and abilities to get active on the water across our sports.
Irish Sailing CEO Tim Bourke welcomed the appointment, highlighting Colum’s leadership, vision and commitment to growing participation in sailing, powerboating and windsurfing.
