Creating safe, child-centred sporting environments is at the heart of sailing in Ireland. To support our members in achieving this, Irish Sailing is delighted to launch the Autumn calendar of Safeguarding workshops.
A total of eight evening workshops (18:30–21:30) will run over the coming months via Zoom, offering a choice of dates to suit a wide range of schedules.
- Safeguarding Level 1: for anyone working with athletes under 18
- Safeguarding Level 2: for Club Children’s Officers
- Safeguarding Level 3: for Designated Liaison Persons
Workshops are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and can be booked through the Irish Sailing Shop.
Luke Murphy, National Children’s Officer, commented:
“We’re delighted to announce such a broad range of dates and workshops. The demand for safeguarding education has grown year on year, and we’re very pleased to meet that demand with our team of experienced tutors. The increasing interest in these workshops is a hugely positive development for the sport as we work together to ensure safe, child-centred environments—whether in local sailing clubs or formal training centres. These workshops play a key role in that process.”
