Anticipation Builds as Dublin Bay Welcomes the ILCA U21 World Championships
Dublin bay welcomes the 2025 ILCA U21 World Championships, taking place between the Royal St. George Yacht Club and the National Yacht Club. With over 200 sailors from 27 countries set to compete, this promises to be a spectacular showcase of the world’s best young talent in the home country of the current reigning u21 World Champion Eve McMahon.
Eve won back-to-back world titles in 2023 and 2024, achievements that are a source of inspiration for the Irish team and a reminder of Ireland’s growing presence on the global sailing stage.
This event marks a significant return to Dublin Bay for international ILCA competition. The last major European Laser event held here saw Annalise Murphy capture senior gold in 2013.
Now, a new generation of Irish talent is ready to take the spotlight. Representing Ireland across the ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes, the national squad and ILCA Academy sailors are primed to take on the best in the world:
