Headcase Claims Third Consecutive J24 European Championship Title

Irish J24 team Headcase has won the 2025 J24 European Championship, marking their third consecutive title in the class, a notable achievement in a highly competitive fleet.

Skippered by Cillian Dickson, and crewed by Marcus Ryan, Ryan Glynn, Louis Malloy, and Sam O’Byrne, the team represents Ballyholme Yacht Club, Mayo Sailing Club, and Howth Yacht Club. Over the course of the regatta, they delivered a consistent series that included several race wins, ultimately finishing 18 points clear of second place.

“It was a challenging week of racing in light winds, but we’re really pleased with how we sailed,” said skipper Cillian Dickson. “We’ve built a strong team over the past few seasons and it’s great to see that work paying off.”

The team has been steadily building momentum in the J24 class, with this latest result adding to their growing list of achievements. Their performance was previously recognised with a nomination for Team of the Year at the Irish Sailing 2024 Awards.

Headcase’s success reflects the strength and depth of Irish one-design keelboat sailing and highlights the benefits of a committed, collaborative campaign across multiple clubs and events.

Congratulations to this whole team on yet another sucessful campaign, we look forward to seeing what is next for this team!
