This year’s ICRA National Championships were hosted by Kinsale Yacht Club in conjunction with the Sovereign’s Cup, running from Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th June. The event attracted a strong fleet across eight classes, with crews from around the country (and further afield) competing for national honours in a week of highly competitive racing.
Howth Yacht Club crews delivered a standout performance, securing three national titles and lifting the Sovereign’s Cup itself. In IRC Coastal One, Checkmate XX dominated with a clean sweep of five race wins, sealing both class honours and the overall Cup.
Other notable performances included a joint Rush/Baltimore win in IRC Two and consistent results from visiting and local crews alike across the board.
The ICRA overall winner on IRC was Checkmate XX, while the overall ECHO champion was Lambay Rules.
Congratulations to Kinsale Yacht Club for hosting a great championships and thank you to all of the sponsors who supported the event, especially Kildare Innovation Campus.
