Magenta Foiling Clinic at the Royal St. George Yacht Club
Over the weekend, nine sailors had the opportunity to take part in the Magenta Foiling Clinic at the Royal St. George Yacht Club. The clinic was run by the Magenta Foiling Team, who travel the world delivering these sessions to young female sailors, offering them the chance to learn or improve their foiling skills.
The Magenta Project are a collective of passionate sailors committed to creating equal access and opportunities for women in sailing and to working with a wide range of individuals and organisations to make that happen. It was started in 2015 by members of the all female ‘Team SCA’ who successfully competed in the 2014-15 Volvo Ocean Race campaign. We are a registered charity in the UK.
Their mission is brought to life by helping athletes upskill and supporting them in reaching the top levels of the sport. This past weekend was a perfect example of that vision in action, as sailors were able to learn from and be coached by seasoned foiling sailors..
Earlier this year, the clinic was also held in Mumbai and continues to run regularly in the UK. The team is enthusiastic about returning to Ireland for future clinics—so be sure to keep an eye on our pages and on the Magenta Foiling Team channels to avoid missing your next opportunity!

And the opportunites for women in our sport don't stop their, as the Match Racing Association of Ireland are seeking expressions of interest for a Match Racing Clinic to be held in Dublin on the 28th of June! 2.0 Racing, skippered by Megan Thomson are planning to bring their Women’s Match Racing Clinic to Ireland.
