Irish Sailors Shine Bright for Darkness Into Light 2025
Sailors from across Ireland came together in a powerful show of solidarity for Pieta Houses Darkness Into Light 2025, raising an impressive €25,000 collectively in support of mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
From the middle of the night on the 10th of May, over 150 boats and more than 600 sailors took to the water across Ireland, to mark the journey from Darkness into Light. In Dun Laoghaire alone the sights were moving as 70 boats took to the water as a community.
The event saw participation from sailing communities nationwide, with the following clubs taking part:

- Howth Yacht Club

- Royal Irish Yacht Club
- The National Yacht Club
- Wicklow Sailing Club
- Heir Island Sailing School
- Royal Cork Yacht Club
- Bantry Bay Sailing Club
- Trinity Sailing
- Poolbeg Yacht and Boat Club
- Malahide YC
