THE LAMBAY RACE

Countdown to the Lambay Races – Just over Two Weeks to Go!

The countdown is on for the Lambay Races, taking place over two action-packed days of the June Bank Holiday Weekend on Saturday 31 May and Sunday 1 June, at Howth Yacht Club.

First sailed in 1904, they offer keelboats of all types a taste of the offshore racing experience, as the race is a longer than the usual saturday racing format.

This year’s edition, proudly supported by Fingal County Council, Kinetica Sports and Lambay Whiskey, promises a vibrant blend of tradition and celebration. Saturday racing will follow the traditional Lambay Island course.  A full race program follows on Sunday 1st June with windward-leeward racing for Classes 0/1/2/3 and sports boats, as well as round the cans racing for White Sails.

It has also sparked strong interest from the Sports Boats Fleet, promising a spectacular weekend of competitive sailing over the June bank holiday. Event Chairman Phil Merry shared that Howth is expecting to welcome 100 boats to the Lambay Races with entries filling up fast and closing on Friday 23 May.
