UK SAILMAKERS SUMMER LEAGUE

Cork Harbour sizzling as large numbers complete in the UK Sailmakers May League!

The second week of UK Sailmakers May Keelboat League was once again held in beautiful summery conditions. Last  Thursday witnessed of the largest turnouts for a number of years and with nine new boats in the Club this year, the competition is hotting up! The fleet had a fantastic race under the stewardship of Race officers, Richard Leonard and Geraldine Peretti. Kieran and Fiorentina on Magnet won 1st place on the night in Non-Spinnaker ECHO and IRC. In Spinnaker IRC, Fiona Young's North Star took the honours in Spinnaker IRC and Andrew Crosbie had the bragging rights in his Etchells, Knot on Call.

On Friday evening, 20 boats lined up to race in a moderate breeze with blue skies. Unfortunately the breeze died away a little later in the evening but it was a great evening just to be on the water. Friday evening's are for Non-Spin ECHO and in 3rd place were Darren and Louise O'Keeffe aboard Labous Gwen, in 2nd place,Kieran & Fiorentina on Magnet  and the top spot on the night were the Foster family aboard Clodagh.

With in excess of 40 boats racing across this weekend, it is fantastic to see such large numbers turnout!

A sincere thank you to our sponsor, UK Sailmakers Ireland who provided the fantastic McWilliams wash bags as prizes.
