Club Coach Certificate Course
This course is aimed at those who would like to achieve a recognised coaching certification and on completion awards the Irish Sailing Club Coach qualification. Completing the Club Coach course will also revalidate any existing SBSS instructor qualifications.
The course is open to those with no previous instructor qualifications for whom it is a 3 day course and those who already hold an instructor qualification for whom it is a 2 day course.
Following completion of the training weekend participants are required to log a minimum of 6 supervised coaching sessions (4 if instructor qualification already held) with real participants before completing a final evaluation with a Coach Tutor.
This qualification is required to be listed as an Irish Sailing Approved Coach to deliver coaching in Dinghies or Keelboats for classes you are familiar with. The qualification also allows coaches to deliver the Start Racing module of the Small Boat Sailing Scheme.

Pre-Requisites:
- Good Club Racer – log of personal racing experience required
- National Powerboat Certificate or equivalent with tiller and console endorsement
- Valid Emergency Care Certificate
- Valid Garda Vetting
- Valid Safeguarding level 1
- Minimum age 17
