We are delighted to share some excellent news from Safe Haven in Sligo...
Last month saw the first ever Safe Haven sponsored Sailor achieve his Advanced Boat Handling Certificate. Seyi started with Safe Haven three years ago through a programme aimed at offering opportunities for kids in the Direct Provision system. Seyi is now looking forward to becoming an assistant and starting his route to becoming an instructor. This would not have been possible without the support and funding through Irish Sailing and of course the amazing team at Safe Haven. We would like to wish Seyi the best of luck with his future endeavours, we are sure to see more of him
Safe Haven
Safe Haven Ireland is a community organised charity founded in 2015. They provide sailing opportunities to children and young people in Ireland, typically aged between 15 and 21. Their primary aims are to promote integration and youth development. Safe Haven’s vision is an Ireland with strong, integrated communities where all of its young people feel empowered.
