The Royal St George kindly hosted the second Irish Sailing Race Official Training Weekend of 2024 in March.
With over 37 participants completing close to 60 Race Management Modules collectively, the knowledge gained by the attendees covered the many aspects to ensure the safe and efficient management of local race organisation.
In addition to the entry level modules, a Level 2 Mark Laying course was conducted over the two days. It was the first time such a course was held since 2019 and fantastic to see the enthusiastic attendees being skilled up to a very proficient level of mark laying across any race course.
As the summer sailing season begins to build in the coming months, there will be a pause in Irish Sailing Race Management Training Programmes until later in the year to allow all recent attendees to gain further practical experience on the water.
Renewed thanks to the staff of the Royal St George for organising the relevant training areas and to all the trainers who give voluntarily of their time to deliver the content.
