Irish Sailing Training – A Year In Numbers

  • 8,226 Participants on Irish Sailing training programmes
  • 925 International Certificates of Competency issued
  • 640 Sailing, Powerboating and windsurfing Instructors trained
  • 73 Sailing, Powerboating and windsurfing Senior Instructors trained

It was a busy year again for our Clubs & Training Centres and this was despite some pretty poor summer weather, a return to normal holiday travel patterns and some economic uncertainty. Credit must go to all the Volunteers, Instructors, Coaches, Senior Instructors, Junior Organisers, Training Officers, Centre principals, Instructor Trainers and everyone else involved in helping so many people safely enjoy the sports we all love.

The next season won’t be long coming around so while it’s time to take a well earned break over Christmas make sure you start getting those plans in place early in the New Year to make sure you hit the ground running for 2024.

On the Irish Sailing side we are looking forward to better supporting your work next year with a revised organisation structure including a new Education Programmes officer and a new Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Officer which will improve our ability to develop programmes and resources to support and grow your activities.

Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2024.
