Revised Pre-requisites for Advanced Powerboat Instructor Qualification
Following a review by the Irish Sailing Instructor Trainer panel and approval by the Irish Sailing Training Policy Group the following additions have been made to the pre-requisites for Advanced Powerboat Instructor candidates.
- A Yachtmaster Coastal Shore-based Certificate, other equivalents considered on application
- An logged instruction requirement of 20 Days delivery in at least two Training Centres in the previous 3 years
- A Minimum of 3 coastal passages logged
- A Minimum of 20hrs of Night hrs logged
These changes are in addition to the existing pre-requisites identified in the powerboat instructor handbook and are implemented effective 1/1/24.
