Annalise on Local Tour

Annalise tours primary schools in her local area

On Monday Annalise Murphy had a whirlwind tour of some of the primary schools in her local area. Organised by Dun Laoghaire County Council, Annalise and An Cathaoirleach Cormac Devlin travelled to five schools in five hours, from Glasthule to Stepaside, and saw over 1000 children from third to sixth class.

Annalise told them all about her sailing career so far and answered questions as wide-ranging as “what’s it like being famous?”, “what sacrifices have you had to make?”, “when did you realise you could make sailing a career?”, “what other sports do you like?”.

Her message to the children was clear:-

“Keep working hard. It won’t always be easy but you’ll get there in the end”.
