But the fun doesn't stop there as applications are now open for the Junior Winter Programs.
The aim of these programs is to improve the racing and performance skills of competitive sailors, while developing personal skills through the challenges and opportunities that present themselves within the sport.
It is recommended that clubs might have their own coaching structure that fits around this program in the lead up to next year’s Irish Sailing Youth Nationals. Our programs intend to crossover with club programs, providing the opportunity for joint racing, communication of ideas and observations between coaches. Coach development is a key objective for Irish Sailing to elevate the level of performance nationwide.
The club structure will, provide the chance for sailors to develop to the standard of the Irish Sailing programs. It will facilitate additional local training for those on programs and give younger/less experienced sailors the chance to learn from the knowledge and skills of sailors and coaches involved in the program.
