Almost half way through the year and it’s been a busy one so far for ISA Instructor Training Programmes with over 38 instructor courses delivered around the country and over 257 participants attending.
The courses delivered cover the full range of ISA disciplines SBSS (sailing), Powerboat and the Go Windsurfing schemes. As well as the core entry level instructor courses, there have been a number of Senior Instructor and Advanced Instructor courses. For those already qualified and looking to renew their qualification we have also held a number of CPD re-validation days around the county.
As well as participants from the traditional sailing club background we have seen participants from a wide range of backgrounds including 3rd level training programmes, the Defence Forces Sailing Club and lapsed instructors returning after developing other careers or raising families.
The above just goes to show that whether you’re considering becoming an instructor as an enjoyable way to work through your college holidays, enhance your personal development or just help out your local club, the skills you learn working in this environment can applied across a wide range of other areas.
