FORESHORE LICENCES

FORESHORE LICENCES

Foreshore Licenses are still the subject of much anguish and frustration for many clubs and training centres who are engaged in the process of putting in pontoons, marinas, moorings etc. There can be still a great deal of inconsistency in the costs, valuations, information received, the time taken to process the application, health and safety requirements, planning applications etc.

The ISA intends to renew efforts to address this issue with the Department of Agriculture, and we would like to build a picture based on the experiences of clubs and training centres that either completed, or are presently engaged in the process, so that we have some hard facts with which to base our arguments.

We believe that in the current climate, it is a good time to build a case for facilitating the process and reducing the costs of developing major infrastructural foreshore projects. It appears clubs and training centres dealing with the foreshore section individually are receiving little support, and we would like to strengthen your case with the weight of numbers from ISA organisations.

Please could you organise for details of any applications for Foreshore Licences your club or training centre has been involved with, to be returned to me, particularly with regard to:

·Details of the Project
·Costs/value of the project
·Current Status
·What problems you have encountered
·What you believe are the solutions
·Any other suggestions or feedback

If requested the information will be treated in confidence.
