SOUTH EAST REGATTA
27 boats were counted on the water by the ISA resident spy last weekend of August 2nd and 3rd. Boats raced from places such as Wicklow, Courtown, Dun Laoghaire and Wexford to compete at Arklow Sailing Club for the start of the annual South East regatta sponsored by Dunnes Stores, Roadstone, BOI, MGM Boats, Allergan, Arklow Marina LTD, Arklow Shipping, Arklow Crane Hire and Allen & Smyth.
As a result of this the first of a four race series took place on Saturday evening where cruisers one, two and white sails competed under the guidance of National Race Officer Henry Leonard.
Sunday provided three further races windward leeward, triangular and round the cannes with rain and thunder storms thankfully holding off until the series was complete. Spotted competing in "Flying Fish" was ISA Chief Executive Harry Hermon and family as seen in attached photograph.
