ISA Safety Courses

 

We have a range of courses that provide boaters with additional skills and knowledge so they can avoid getting into difficulties and so they know what to do if they do!

These courses include:
Emergency Care:
The ISA Emergency care training scheme is a 2 day course providing participants with the skills and knowledge required to provide emergency first aid in the marine environment.


Basic Marine Engine Course
The ISA Basic Marine Engine course is a new scheme which will provide boaters with information on the various engine types in the marine environment. It will also allow boaters to maintain engines to help prevent mechanical breakdown.

Offshore Safety / Sea Survival
This two day safety course provides racers/cruisers with the necessary skills to prevent getting into trouble at sea.



Children's Sport 
As part of our commitment to ensuring that all of our water sports are accessible, fun and safe for children and vulnerable adults the ISA delivers a range of information & training programmes aimed at volunteers, staff, instructors, coaches, managers & administrator from ISA Clubs and Training Centres including the Irish Sport Council certified 3-hour Basic Awareness Course.

VHF Radio Certificate Course Providers (Approved by the Martitime Radio Affairs)
On the 2nd January 1999 the Department of The Marine & Natural Resources introduced new requirements for anyone applying for VHF certificates. There are three certificates that are required by small yachts, vessels and offshore racing yachts.
