Description:

The list of competitors for the 2014 ISA All Ireland Junior Sailing Championship has now been finalised for the warning signal at 11.25 on Saturday morning for the first race on the waters of Kinsale Harbour, out of Kinsale Yacht Club.

Nominations were received for over 30 sailors from 11 classes and the selection of invitees were made by the ISA Steering Group [SG]. The group under chairmanship of ISA Director Jack Roy and included Flor O’Driscoll, who sat on the ISA Events Review Group and was assisted by Ed Alcock, who is responsible for collating nominations for the events, implementing the decisions of the SG and managing the detailed organisation of the event.

The key guidance in how the selection is made is contained in the ISA Events Review Group Report published in 2012. This established the ISA Steering Group to oversee the events.

All nominees were considered and the selection process allocated places based on the numbers of boats declared by the classes attending their national championships.

Some nominees were not able to accept places due to pre-existing commitments, such as family engagements or prior sailing commitments.

The sailors will be competing in the ISA Sail Fleet of Topaz dinghies.
