ISA 4.7 Squad member Seafra Guilfoyle from Royal Cork Yacht Club returned home from the recent Laser 4.7 Europeans with a Silver medal around his neck. He finished 2nd overall in the U16 age group from a fleet of 104. 

The event which took place in Workum, the Netherlands saw a total of 290 boats compete of which Guilfoyle finished 15th overall. This is an outstanding result from the young sailor who has transitioned superbly from the ISA Optimist squad.

From the seven races completed during Guilfoyle had four top 10 finishes. 

ISA Coach Alistair Kissane had only praise for the young Corkonian who also finished 2nd U16 at the La Rochelle Europa Cup. “Seafra had a great attitude towards this event and was equally competitive in all conditions.”

Cian Byrne also from Royal Cork Yacht Club finished a very respectable 10th overall in the U16 Gold Fleet. For full results on all the Irish competitors please see here.
