Consistency was the name of the game on day one of the IFDS Disabled Sailing Combined World Championships 2011 as the sailors who mastered the tricky light airs topped the leaderboard at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy on Sunday the 3rd of July.

The IFDS Worlds are the last chance for Ireland to qualify for the Paralympic Games. John Twomey and crew are our sole representatives in the SONAR class. 6 nation places are up for grabs this time with 8 places already allocated last year. 17 nations are competing. Ireland had a steady first day and lie in 12th.
