It was a tricky day on Lake Garda for the final day of the U21 Laser Europeans. The first race was at 8am but then the wind died and the sailors had to wait until 1pm to get going again.
Fionn Lyden had another really solid day pulling in a 10, 13. Along with his other five top 10 results he finished an impressive 10th overall from the 167 boat fleet.
Finn Lynch had a frustrating first race when the sheet slipped while he was leading the first race. He fell to the back of the Gold fleet and couldn’t recover. He had a 22nd in the final race leaving him 22nd overall and narrowly missing out on the U19 Bronze.

The wind lifted to about 12 knots this afternoon on Lake Garda at the U21 Laser Europeans. The Gold fleet including Finn Lynch, Fionn Lyden and Darrah O'Sullivan sailed two races but the cloud cover made conditions tricky. All three boys had difficulty on the upwind but they recovered well. Both Fionn and Finn are top 25 going in to the penultimate day tomorrow.
