There was very exciting racing over three days, coming down to the last of the 9 race series, to decide the honours. Conditions were ideal for a championship with a mixture of large seas to relatively calm waters and winds of 12 to 20 knots. Whilst GBR sailor Alexander Hughes took overall honours, there was a fascinating battle for second place, and the National Irish Champion title, between Conor Quinn, Carlingford Lough YC, Peter Guilmore, Strangford Lough YC and local sailor Geoff Power, Waterford Harbour SC. Geoff Power held a slim advantage going into the last race, however Conor Quinn prevailed by winning the last, followed in 3rd by Peter Guilmore , and Geoff Power in 6th.
