Now in its third year, the ISA is delighted to once again host Sail Spree 2014 over the May Bank Holiday weekend; 3rd – 5th May. Last year an estimated 8,147 people participated in both sea and shore based activities and this year we want the initiative will continue to encourage people throughout Ireland to discover the thrill of sailing, windsurfing and power boating for free in their local clubs and centres.
Remember: Your organisation needs to register its event by Sunday the 6th of April in order to avail of the
regional, national and online PR campaign and the FREE personalised Facebook advertising campaign. More details below.

One of the new aims for this year is to raise the profile of the many different classes sailed throughout the country. Sail Spree provides the perfect opportunity for ISA Classes to work together with appropriate Clubs and Training Centres looking to increase their membership.
There can still be plenty of fun back on dry land with BBQs, entertainment and meeting club members who can show new potential members and customers just how easy it really is for them to get involved in sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.
Sail Spree is the perfect platform to launch a membership drive, open the doors and get your local community to try something new.
National & Regional PR Campaign
Two weeks before Sail Spree weekend the ISA will launch a full national and regional PR campaign. This will include online, print and broadcast. Details of your organisation’s event will be disseminated in a series of tailored press releases specific to your area and the initiative as a whole will be promoted on a national level.
This year the ISA has decided to invest in a social media advertising campaign on behalf of its Club and Training Centres participating in Sail Spree. The Facebook advertising campaigns will be managed by the ISA and will be tailored specifically to your organisation’s target markets. Your Sail Spree Liaison will be contacted by Rachel Solon three weeks prior to discuss your objectives and a campaign will then be designed around your individual needs.
Post Event PR
You will be provided with a PR Toolkit which will equip you with all the information you need to maximise the success of your event and generate further publicity for your organisation immediately afterwards. Use the success of your Sail Spree event as a platform to showcase your upcoming summer activities with a PR campaign.
Post Event Evaluation
The ISA will be provided you with the analytics of your Facebook campaign.
All organisations signed up by 6th of April will be contacted by Communications Officer, Rachel Solon next week to discuss specific objectives so as to tailor a campaign around individual needs.
