After an action packed summer, the ISA is delighted to celebrate the successful first season of the ISA SailFleet Dinghy Programme with a new discounted autumn/winter package. The fleets have been used from Bantry Bay to Poolbeg and as far west as the Aran Islands. We are proud that over 20 different clubs and centres availed of theses fleets, and by all reports, everyone was very happy and complimentary about the programme.

“Brilliant initiative and thanks so much for all the help getting the boats on time” - Petersburg OEC.
“I have to say a big thanks to you and the ISA team without whose extremely practical assistance and encouragement we could not have held the Start to Sail courses” - Poolbeg Yacht Club.

Autumn Programme
Rather than leaving the fleet stored up for the autumn the ISA has put together a special package to give clubs and centres the opportunity to use the fleets during the autumn and winter. Why not try a new initiative to encourage membership, extend your sailing season or run a fundraising event? ISA programmes that we would particularly encourage your club or centres to try this autumn include:
  • Women on the Water
  • Disabled Sailing
  • Schools Sailing
  • Self-Development

If your club or centre is interested in using the fleet or running any specialised programmes your Regional Development Office will be happy to help in any way. Your RDO can also put you in contact with your Local Sport Partnership who will be able to help with accessing target groups, promoting your event or advise on potential funding streams for the development of future programmes.

SailFleet Logistics

To facilitate the autumn/winter programme the Topaz Fleets will be located in four regional locations: Leinster, Munster, Connaught & Midlands. It is the responsibility of each user to collect and return the fleets as required. The ISA will facilitate transportation when possible for the standard fee (Terms & Conditions). Where all four fleets are required the organising authority will have to collect and return the fleets from their nearest provincial storage area.

The fleet is readyto go  so what are you waiting for? Finish the season off by trying something new!

Thank you to everyone who participated in the programme this year. We look forward to an even busier summer sailing season in 2014.
