The Royal St George Yacht Club were hosts to the second ISA Access Sailing National Championship which was held last weekend on the 27th and 28th of July.
13 sailors from Dun Laoghaire, Kinsale and Galway took part in a very closely fought competition in the specially designed dinghies for disabled sailing in near perfect conditions in Dun Laoghaire harbour.
After 6 races the overall winner of the Girls Trophy was Georgina Griffin from Kinsale and the Boys Trophy was Oisin Putt from Dun Laoghaire.
The event was a huge success and enjoyed by all participants, parents, volunteers and crew. As Niamh McCutcheon President of the ISA who presented the prizes commented "the regatta should give the encouragement to those involved in Access sailing to participate in this fun competitive event and inspire other clubs around the country to get children with disability out on the water".
