The Future of Small Boat Sailing & Youth Training

Following the motion submitted to the ISA AGM by Norman Lee and Bryan Armstrong, the ISA has scheduled a follow up meeting (to be chaired by Paddy Maguire) to explore the issues raised at the AGM and suggest action needed to rectify them. 

The ISA would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend.

National Championship & Training Participation Statistics

The ISA has received requests for clarity on both attendance figures at National Championships and of ISA training course participation in recent years.

Entries are now being accepted online for the 2013 ISA Youth National & Junior Pathway Championships. The event will be held from the 4th to the 7th of April in Lough Derg Yacht Club.

Insurance Scheme for Clubs & Centres


The ISA has been working closely with the Federation of Irish Sport on a new insurance scheme for ISA affiliated organisations.

The new ISA approved Insurance Scheme for affiliated Clubs and Training Centres is available exclusively to ISA members through our new insurance brokers BHP Insurances.

BHP have delivered significant savings for the ISA and although it has only just been launched they have already helped Swords Sailing & Boating Club realised a significant saving in their insurance premium.

Laser Europa Cup



All eyes were firmly on the Irish this St Patrick's Day on Lake Garda as a total of five ISA Academy sailors stood on the respective podiums for the Laser Radial and 4.7 classes at the 2013 Laser Europa Cup in Italy.

Fionn Lyden, Robbie Gilmore, Cian Byrne, Finn Lynch and Conor O'Beirne all took home medals which included both overall gold and silver from the 165 boat Laser Radial fleet.

St Patrick's Day Powerboat Display
Members of the Irish P750 Class Association wowed thousands of spectators in Kinsale at the St Patrick's Day parades which took place both during the day and at night.
