The ISA launched a new participation initiative in 2012 entitled ‘Sail Spree’ which took place over the weekend of 23/24 June. 

60 ISA Clubs and Training Centres partook in the initiative which was aimed at encouraging a wider audience to experience the thrill of a variety of different water sports. Clubs and Centres offered taster sessions in sailing, powerboating, windsurfing and jet skiing as well as hosting on-shore entertainment and activities.

Although the weather conditions were challenging, an estimated 2,604 participants attended Taster Sessions nationwide. A further 528 attended the event for the on-shore entertainment and activities creating a total of 3,132 overall participants.
