Irish Professional windsurfer Mikey Clancy secured 13th place overall in the KIA Cold Hawaii Professional Windsurfers Assosiation World Cup event in Klitmoller Denmark.

Clancy was competing against the elite of the worlds windsurfers in the wave discipline. It was a sensational performance by the 22 year old Dubliner who defeated the worlds number 5 Spanish Windsurfer Dario Ojeda on route to a 13th place.

The KIA Cold Hawaii PWA World Cup event was won by Thomas Traversa (France) with Phillip Koester (Germany) second and Victor Fernandez (Spain) third.

Mikey has recovered from serious injury which threatened his abililty to walk, let alone windsurf. Next up for the Irish windsurfer is the prestigious PWA event in Sylt, Germany, next month.

Irish windsurfer Mikey Clancy will compete in the final two rounds of the PWA World Championships in Denmark from the 17-22 September and in Germany from the 28 September to the 7th October.

Mikey will compete against the world top windsurfers in the wave dicipline.The first event takes place in Klitmuller on Denmark's North West coast.The Kia Cold Hawaii World Cup Klitmuller will have live pictures and instant scoring sheets.

The second tour event takes place in Germany at Westerland ,Sylt and attracts over 200,000 spectators and Finn Mullen will join up with Mikey for this event.This legendary event is the final stop on the 2012 PWA World Tour and the challenging conditions of the North Sea are a real test for the competitors.
