Irish Sailors at the Paralympics

Following the cancellation of the final race yesterday, the Irish sailors John Twomey, Anthony Hegarty and Ian Costello finished 11th overall at the 2012 Paralympics.

Although they will not come home with a medal this year, John has made the history books by competing in what was his 10th Paralympics, a record for any Irish person competing at either the Olympics or Paralympics.

ISA President Niamh McCutcheon was in Weymouth yesterday to tell the trio how proud we all are of their performance.
