The Fastnet International Schools’ Regatta has been revived this year following the successful hosting of the World Team Racing Championship in Schull in 2011.  The event will take place in Schull Harbour from July 23rd to 26th, 2012 and is again hosted by Schull Community College / Fastnet Marine & Outdoor Education Centre.  The importance of participation in Bronze and Silver Fleet has not been forgotten by the organisers who see participation at this level as an important starting point in developing expertise, experience and having fun.  Handicap Racing will take place in both fleets with class racing possible where sufficient entries are received.

It is in the Gold Fleet that a major change in format has been decided with dinghies being provided by the organisers.  Fleet Racing will take place in the newly acquired TR3.6 dinghies which were designed and built specifically for the “Worlds” in 2011.  This exciting deviation will permit sailors travel to the West Cork venue without the burden of transporting boats and already 9 sailors from the UK have entered the event.

Notice of Race and Entry Forms are available below and on www.schullsailing.ie or from info@schullsailing.ie and office@schullcommunitycollege.com
